Long kinky hair secret from Chad in Africa

Long kinky hair secret from Chad in Africa

Today I’ll take you on a journey to meet women from an ethnic group in Chad called the “Badsada Arabs” (?) The defining feature of this ethnicity is their long frizzy hair which often reaches their thighs They agreed to share their beauty secrets with me so I went to find out how they make their hair grow out so long and the recipe for their hair treatments They coat their hair with a mix of ingredients which keeps their hair extremely hydrated and moist This stops it from breaking from childhood, right through until they are adults. [foreign stringed instrument playing] (singing in foreign language) the mix is made mainly of a grain called “shevay” , a grain called ‘mechlava su bien” a type of stone called “misic” which gives the mix a nicer smell cloves, a resin called “samurh”, and fragranced oil the lady who’s invited us, roasts and grinds each ingredient she then passes them through a sieve until they are all in powder form next each each woman chooses their favorite hair butter or oil which they will add to their mixture traditionally women use beef fat, but this was swapped, due to its very strong smell Before applying the mixture, she wets the hair then, she applies the powder mix and the chosen oil, in alternation, until the hair is completely saturated she then replats the hair, and wets it again this ritual is repeated every five days many people think their long hair is linked to their genes, so I asked them if it was, they said “No, it wasn’t at all genetic, they don’t apply the “shevay” to their fringe, & that stays short whereas they do apply it all over the rest of their hair, which grows long and it doesn’t break

  3. بالله قولو ايش يطول الشعر عندكم اشوفو ماشاءالله طويل وحلو اكتبو بالعربي

  4. No flat irons. No hair dyes. No weaves. Protective styling:yes. Moisture:yes.= LENGTH RETENTION. Their genetics may also play some role if any; as far as hair type, etc.

  5. Hae Miss Sahel…how can i get this mixture i really need it i have the worst hair ever that doesn't grow

  6. They clearly do not have type 4 kinky hair, I am not surprised they're hair is long either, they're not putting bullshit chemicals in it or heat and they are not styling the hair in a way that pulls on their roots. Their hair looks biracial, not typical west African kinky hair. In any case, type 4 hair grows long when they're not chemically frying it. Just use organic products, stop blow drying it and styling it too tight.

  7. They could make sooooo much money selling that over here. Whoever posted this should help them market it. I'd buy it for sure

  8. I love my AFRICAN people 😍😍😍😍🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 USA showing some love😍😍😍😍 ps all black women do not have short hair

  9. كلو مزيان بس الصلعة اللي من قدام صراحة تفشل

  10. This makes a lot of since. They moisturizethe hair apply the chebe to prevent breakage and they leave their hair alone

  11. Do these ladies have 4c hair or they keep there in braid for so long that there hair keeps the pattern of the braid?

  12. While I think that the Documentary was nice, I have to be honest in saying that the use of the words "kinky" and "frizzy" were definitely a huge turn off. It is so frustrating to hear those words described for our hairs on a daily basis. I definitely appreciate you taking the time, which I am sure was a lot, to make sure that information like this is available to everyone in the world. Thank you.

  13. I'm sure some white woman with a rich white father will figure out a way to produce, bottle, and serve up this recipe to black folks because that's what rich white people do.

  14. I would love to become a distributor please let me know how I can work with you on bringing the products to the USA.

  15. Why don't you start paying her a pittance and buy her hair???, I mean it's more suitable than us Asian girls hair in texture.

  16. I wish American Black women would heed this advice and make adjustments. They look so out of place with their weaves from other nations, emulating their women. It really saddens me that they care so little about their own culture. My hope is that they will become awake from this treacherous mindset one day soon. Rich or poor and in between, this self hatred is pervasive with our women. Africa has the same problem with skin lightening creams.

  17. بليييييييييييييز ترجمي لينا بالعربي المكونات شنو ؟؟؟؟؟؟؟😔😔

  18. Great Video, I hope you gave some of the proceeds from this educational video to these women in this village. Maybe help some start a business or something to better there community. Just a thought lol keep it up❤️

  19. Yes, minimal manipulation and maximum moisture/ hydration. Sadly, many blacks have been taught not to get their hair wet.
The more you wet it, the more it grows and becomes soft and manageable. Believe it or not. Black hair grows as quickly as anyone else's hair; the problem is the breakage because it can become so dry and brittle.

  20. African hair = prevent breakage of the outgrowth by adding and locking in moisture + very minimum manipulation

  21. When we move away from our true culture in favour to adopt someone else's we inadvertently deny our roots.

  22. I wonder why they only showed just one lady and the rest if them all had their heads covered even the one applying the stuff to her hair🤔

  23. Some white men will patent this and make millions and millions of black women will buy this product. I wish we as black women can come together and take over these industries that we support so much

  26. do you really want your hair to grow? just use a 100 % natural butter. and leave your hair for weeks just like they did and you will see the result. the herb it is just for the hair won't smell bad. you can use vanilla or perfumed oil. back home we use butter and vanilla mixed together for our hair just for 2 to 3 days , if not it will stink so bad. we have to wash it because we have to take public transportation. but these people they are used to it that is why they leave it for longer.

  27. Always thought? Up too several years now? THAT Afraican woman were mostly bald headed. Not too good looking? And look like men's. What deceptions we been THRU and thought most were poor and in educated. That's what deceitful lying America portrayed of them..was Amazed too see real BEAUITFUL strong head of hair on a beautiful blk woman. Not only that? The more media exposed around the World..and National Geographic showing the most shapely beautiful blk woman around the World. I just kinda got upset? Thinking how we been so deceived about the darker skin people's around the World…omg!! AMERICANS MUST HAVE LIVED THERE LIVES OF FALSE PRETENSE AND DEPLUCATING AND BEWITCHING THIS COUNTRY….W OW! WOW!!😰 WHAT A HORRIBLE PRICE THEY GOT TO PAY…😞

  28. You best believe some white person. Going to steal are take this rename it and be a billionaire. As anything else they steal copy. Take are rename and go to the top!! Like most things we have? They retake make copy are even steal it! And off too there bank…

  29. This is extremely similar to the "crown and glory" method that was popular when the natural hair trend really took off, but w/o the chemical. I'm a lover of hair grease. My sister's picked on me growing up because I would have so much in my hair my sweat was blue from the blue magic hair grease….lol….I still glob it my hair as an adult and I use it on my 2 year olds hair. I keep braids in as a protective style but always end up cutting my hair off. So moisture is key to length retention.

  30. I had a hale berry hair cut for years than I had 1 side shaved with designs and kept it short till I met my husband 4 1/2 years ago. My hair never grew past my shoulders and I’m mixed with Black White and Spanish! I never took prenatal vitamins and I have 3 children I always bought my own that way I can take them different and ate fruit and veggies! I started growing my hair after I had my daughter who is now 4 almost 5. My hair is down to the middle of my back. The key is to leave your hair alone! Buy 1 set of products and stick to it and find products for your hair type. If you have corse hair buy African products if you have thin hair ect I have straight wavy hair and I use Hawaiian products and I am NOT Hawaiian but I have that texture of hair! Once a month I do a leave in 30 minutes and rinse mix I make myself. 1egg Mayo avocado oil and coconut oil. I wash my hair once a month and I oil my scalp with avocado oil than I condition and rinse than shampoo than rinse and than conditioner again but I leave it in to style. Shampoo cleans out hair but it also strips out hair from its natural oils! That’s why I oil and I condition 1st. When I ware my hair down and curly I spray rice water that is mixed with orange peels and I also put a scented lotion from like Victoria secrets or bath and body works or hell what ever I got. If I’m wearing a protective style I make sure I have a combination of a moisturizer whether it be something I bought from the beauty supply or lotion and avocado oil and coconut oil. I own a “white girl brush” or “weave brush” it’s like a comb and brush all together. It doesn’t break my curl pattern or pull out to much hair! Starting at the ends and working my way up. NO HEAT! NOT EVEN HOT WATER! Luke warm or cold. I just recently died my hair and flat ironed it. My hair was to the middle of my back. I stand 5’8! Make sure your hair is NEVER DRY. And cutt your ends at least 3 times a girl! I cut my hair every 3 months! My daughter is 4 and every one says how did her hair grow so fast???!! I use rice water and coconut milk and coconut oil and avocado oil! Same shit you would buy at the beauty supply BUT I buy it ORGANICALLY BECAUSE I USE IT IN RAW FORM. I BUY IT FROM MY SAFEWAY. Shit. Saves you money to. You get more bang for your buck! ALSO if your on Government assistants you can buy with your card because it’s all for food or is food! A lot of the bottles say…. for Bodycare and food. My good friend gets help from the state and I told her about it. She only buys products for the hair at Safeway as well. Not conditioner and shampoo of corse. I hope in the future I can learn to make my own shampoo
