  2. I feel like the terminology here is counterintuitive to what I have always been taught. You say that the segment of the pulmonary circuit from the heart to the lungs is referred to as pulmonary "arties"…yet this blood is clearly oxygen-depleted. I was told that veins carry blood lacking oxygen, and arteries carry blood rich in oxygen.

    Even when I look up the definition of a "vein", it states:

    "Any of the tubes forming part of the blood circulation system of the body, carrying in most cases oxygen-depleted blood toward the heart."

    Have you made a mistake here? Is the pulmonary circuit just an exception to this rule? I feel very skeptical right now…
